Jonathan Erdman came to Saint Thomas in Advent of 2005 to be the parish Youth Minister. His background has been in youth and childrens ministry.
Prior to Saint Thomas, his most recent position was as Curate of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves, Missouri. While at Emmanuel, he oversaw the Junior and Senior High Youth Ministries, worked with the Young Adult Program and the Family Ministries Committee
Born in Mahoning Township, Pennsylvania, in 1978, Jonathan is the son of an Episcopal Priest. He received a BA in Psychology from the University of Missouri Rolla, where he met Andrea Lea Benson, his wife since August of 2002.
Jonathan received his MDiv from Yale University Divinity School in the summer of 2004. In December of 2003 and June of 2004 he was ordained Deacon and Priest in the Diocese of Missouri. He has served as a staff member of Cliff Springs Episcopal Camp in the Diocese of West Missouri, and as Chaplain and Camp Director of Camp Arrowhead, a Boy Scout Camp in Southern Missouri.
Jonathans focus in ministry is working with children, youth, and parents. He is in charge of the Sunday School and Nursery, as well as the Junior and Senior High Youth Programs. He also works with the Saint Thomas Young Adults. He has a passion for working with the younger members of the church, and also participates in the larger ministry of Saint Thomas in preaching, sacramental ministry, and pastoral care.
