DR. JENNIFER PASCUAL was appointed Director of Music at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in New York City in 2003. She is the first woman to hold this position, one of the most prestigious sacred music appointments in the United States. Jennifer earned a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Organ Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where she studied with David Higgs and taught undergraduate theory courses. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City where she studied with Nina Svetlanova and studied organ privately with Mc Neil Robinson. She received the Bachelor of Music Degrees in Piano and Organ Performance, magna cum laude, and Music Education from Jacksonville University in Florida where she studied with Mary Lou Wesley Krosnick and William Saunders and taught both organ and piano in the University’s Continuing Education Department. She was on the Artistic Staff of the Boys Choir of Harlem, Inc. from 1994 to 2003. She has served as an organist and choir director in the Dioceses of St. Augustine, FL and Rochester, NY, and the Archdioceses of Newark, NJ and New York City, NY, and has served at three Roman Catholic Cathedrals. She conducts the New York Archdiocesan Festival Chorale and has just been appointed Professor and Director of Music of St. Joseph’s Seminary and College in New York. Dr. Pascual is a member of the American Guild of Organists as a board member of the NYC Chapter, NY Archdiocesan Music Commission and Chair of the Organ Committee, Conference of Roman Catholic Cathedral Musicians, Liturgical Organists Consortium, EastWest Organists, and National Association of Pastoral Musicians, where she serves on the National Council, Section Committee for Organists, and is a frequent recitalist and clinician at national conventions. She was a finalist in the 1990 Florida First Coast Piano Competition, performed Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto with the Jacksonville University Community Orchestra in 1993 while also a French Horn player in the orchestra, performed in the 1995 Bach Aria Festival, was a featured soloist in the 2004 International Bamboo Organ Festival in Manila and is a recipient of the Paderewski Medal and Theodore Presser Award. Jennifer has performed in Italy, Austria, the Philippines, and the United States. With the broadcast of live Mass from St. Patrick’s Cathedral on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Dr. Pascual can be heard four times a week at the organ on The Catholic Channel, SIRIUS 159, 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. EST. She also hosts a radio talk and music show called “Sounds from the Spires” on the same channel, Mondays 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EST and re-broadcast Sundays 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. EST. DR. LYNN TRAPP holds a distinguished career as concert organist, conductor, composer and liturgist. Through his many performances and clinician work for conventions and conferences in most major cities across the country, conducting engagements in the U.S. and abroad, articles for journals, and publications of keyboard and choral music with seven major publishers, he has become well-known as a leader in church music. In recent years he has conducted choir performance tours abroad to Italy, Germany, Austria, Ireland, England, Holy Land, Spain, Portugal and Poland. His debut as conductor at Carnegie Hall, New York City, took place in June, 2007 where, under his baton the New England Symphonic Ensemble and a chorus of 175 singers performed Te Deum by Otto Olsson. A national competition winner at the organ, he is a recording artist and clinician with World Library Publications, Chicago, IL. Since 1996 he has served as Director of Worship/Music, Organist/Pianist at St. Olaf Catholic Church in downtown Minneapolis where he directs an extensive liturgical program including radio and television ministry. In 2001, he directed the installation of the 67 rank pipe Lively-Fulcher pipe organ at the church and later released the premiere recording on the instrument, Recital in the City. He is co-director of the annual summer Liturgical Music Conference at St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN, and Artistic Director of the Cracovia Cantat international choral festival in Krakow, Poland. Dr. Trapp is the recipient of many academic and service awards including the prestigious Presser Scholar Award, and the international 2002 Spirit and Truth Award from the University of Notre Dame for contributions to the liturgy and music field. He holds degrees from Southern Illinois University (BM), University of Notre Dame (MM), and after beginning doctoral work at the Eastman School of Music, completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kansas. He performed his DMA lecture recital, The Legacy of André Marchal at St.-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, France. Dr. Trapp is adjunct organ faculty for the Master of Sacred Music Degree program of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN/St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN.
