About Us
Welcome
We welcome you to Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, a vibrant, growing parish of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Our Mission is to worship, love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ through the Anglican tradition and our unique choral heritage.
We invite you not only to explore this website, but more importantly to worship with us whenever you are able, whether in person or via our webcasts. You can access the webcasts for the choral services (as well as the leaflets and printed versions of the sermons) directly through the calendar, or by clicking on the link at the top of the page. From September-May, we typically webcast five choral worship services per week.
The opportunity for you to worship with us in person is even greater: we offer at least one mass every single day of the year, and a total of (typically) twenty services per week. Some of these services are short, non-choral services of Morning and Evening Prayer followed by celebrations of the Eucharist. These brief, daily services are often quite powerful in their simplicity. Other services are more elaborate, with the full Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, and it is here that you will find the richness of not only the liturgy, but also of the Anglican choral tradition. You can read more about our worship services and our musical offerings in the worship and music sections of this website.
We also invite you to join us for classes for both children and adults, or for coffee hour and other fellowship activities. Details can be found in the section on programs.
Finally, if you worship with us regularly, either in person or via the webcasts, we invite you to consider joining our Every Member Canvass. Each year, Saint Thomas offers nearly one thousand opportunities to worship—many which are grand and glorious—and we cannot continue to do so without the generous support of everyone who worships with us. Please help us continue to carry the Anglican tradition forward.
We hope you join us at Saint Thomas regularly, whenever and however you are able. Come and worship.
