This Joyful Eastertide

On the night of the Great Vigil and First Eucharist of Easter on April 4, we entered the Easter season, a joyful period which included spectacular celebrations on Easter Day (April 5) and which will include Festal Eucharists and Festal Evensongs on six additional Sundays in Eastertide, and dozens of weekday services, sixteen of which are choral.

The last ten days of the fifty days of Eastertide are known as Ascensiontide, beginning with Ascension Day itself on Thursday, May 14.

All of this leads up to the coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, fifty days after the resurrection, on May 24.
