Summer at Saint Thomas

On the calendar, summer begins June 21. But at Saint Thomas, it essentially begins the day after the choristers go home for the summer. In 2015, Leaving Sunday coincided with the Feast of Corpus Christi, which fell on June 7. That was the last opportunity to hear the full Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys until September.

From June 14 through the end of August, worship at 11am on Sundays is sung by a series of visiting choirs and occassional visits by the Gentlemen of the Saint Thomas Choir. In addition, the annual Saint Thomas Girl Choristers’ Course begins at the end of July and extends though August 2. As such, there are two special summer weekday Choral Evensongs on July 28 and July 30.

And, of course, said worship services are offered every day of the summer (and almost every day of the year) in the Chantry Chapel, usually at 8am, 12:10pm and 5:30pm on Mondays through Fridays, 12:10pm on Saturdays, and 8am on Sundays.
