Sunday School Projects

Throughout the school year, the Sunday School learned about the many ways in which Jesus calls us to love and serve God and our neighbor. They looked at ways to give of their time, their talent, and, finally, their treasure. The Sunday School families used the penitential Lenten season to talk with their children about discerning the role of alms in the giving of themselves to Christ’s work in the world. Children collected coins and at the end of Lent, the children voted on how the collection was to be spent. As such, $100 was donated to Agros International to purchase a fishing kit for a family; $30 was donated to Habitat for Humanity to purchase a set of hammers; and $39.54 was donated to Episcopal Charities to aid the organization’s support of New York food pantries. Thank you to all those who participated! The Sunday School is currently on summer recess, but will return in September. For more information on our children’s programs, please email Sarah Cornwell.
