Theology update for the week of April 16

Testaments Old and New. This new class begins on Sunday, April 23. This series looks at the ways in which the Gospel writers interpreted the Hebrew scriptures within the texts of the gospels themselves. The class sessions draw on recent Biblical scholarship, including the new Echoes of Scripture in the Gospels by Richard B. Hays, former dean of Duke Divinity School. Note that there is no class on Easter Day.

The Rector’s Christian Doctrine Class takes an Easter break. The class continues on Tuesday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Audio of Rowan Williams Q&A. Through the magic of modern technology, an audio recording of the conversation with Rowan Williams from April 9 is now available on the Saint Thomas web site. Topics discussed include the ways we speak about God, the state of Anglican theology, and the past, present, and future of Muslim-Christian dialogue.

Yours in Christ, Joel
