Theology at Saint Thomas
Winter/Spring 2008

 Monday Evening Seminars
6:15–7:45 p.m. in Andrew Hall

Good Books & Good Talk

For this class, a true seminar, participants all read the book in advance and do not expect to sit through a summary. Rather, Father Austin poses an opening question: a question to get the dialogue going; a real question for which he doesn’t have an answer. And off we go. Newcomers are always welcome.

The class will meet on the first Monday of the month, from February through May.
February 4: Emma by Jane Austen
March 3: One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
April 7, Musicophia by Oliver Sacks (read all chapters except 6, 8, 10-12, 15-16, 20,  and 22)
May 5: The Loved One, by Evelyn Waugh (Note a slight time change: 6:30 to 8 p.m.)

Tuesday Evening Seminars
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Andrew Hall

Practical Prayer

This is a short class for people who find prayer problematic, or just don’t pray. We will be working with the book Prayer in Practice by Simon Tugwell.

May 6, 20, and 27 in Andrew Hall (but May 20 only, on the 5th floor)
