My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me? (2001) by Fr Stafford
Collect:
O Lord God, whose blessed Son our Savior gave his back to the smiters and hid not his face from shame: Grant us grace to take joyfully the sufferings of the present time, in full assurance of the glory that shall be revealed; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
This relatively austere Eucharist will be familiar to those who attend the 9am Eucharist on Sunday mornings. Its tone is reflective and penitential. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, please do come in, as it will help you enter into the wonder and truth of this most holy of weeks.
The service involves three sacred ministers, a small contingent of acolytes, and the Gentlemen of the Choir. All baptized Christians are invited to the altar rail to recieve the sacrament. Please download the leaflet for additional details.
