Saint Matthew

Saint Matthew

We thank thee, heavenly Father, for the witness of thine apostle and evangelist Matthew to the Gospel of thy Son our Savior; and we pray that, after his example, we may with ready wills and hearts obey the calling of our Lord to follow him; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

It is an honor and pleasure to welcome Fordham theology professor Joseph Lienhard, S.J.If you have wondered how the New Testament arose in those early Christian centuries, or how the church got along without a New Testament, Father Lienhard is your man. He speaks at 6:30 pm in the church, following the Festal Eucharist for Saint Matthew. A light reception follows at 7:30, at which time he also signs books. We suggest securing a copy of his short, clear The Bible, the Church, and Authority.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
