Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry will be starting its fifth season on Tuesday, October 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parish House Living Room. This group of knitters and crocheters makes prayer shawls which are given as gifts to those who are ill, housebound, in hospital, or have lost a loved one. They will also be making baby blankets, winter caps for children and grown-ups, and tiny sweaters for the newborns in Uganda called “Fish-and-Chip” babies who, because of the poverty there, are sent home wrapped in newspaper. In addition . . .wait for it . . . the group plans to make penguin pullovers for those poor creatures that have been victims of oil spills. Newcomers are welcome to join this merry band.
