In our Gospel reading last Sunday we witnessed how Jesus was very direct in admonishing his disciples for their dismissal of children − children with all their inquisitive ways, as well as their capacity to create, to give and to fully immerse themselves into something new. He clearly demonstrates that the welcome and hospitality that we are commended to offer not only includes children, but is centered on them.
MARK 9: 36-37 And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, ‘Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.’
This Sunday at Sunday school our older children explored how they too can enter into that spirit of welcome within our church community, as new children and families join us. Taking on this theme of hospitality, the younger children prepared invitations to our forthcoming Family Feasts. This invitation was extended to one another and also to those families who were away this week.
NURSERY AND SUNDAY SCHOOL INVITES YOU TO OUR FAMILY FEASTS. Please join us for our monthly Breakfast. You can read more here.
