Lent: March 6-April 13

The season of Lent offers us a rich opportunity to turn towards a simplicity of life. During the journey we make together over the 40 days which lead up to the great celebration of Easter, we make a choice to live simply. What does this mean? To live simply does not mean we need to feel gloomy for this period, quite the opposite. In Lent, we decide not to be so reliant on those things that compete for our attention. We give ourselves a chance to slow down and think about that which is really important in our lives. Within a period of intentional prayer, invitation to penitence, meditation on the scriptures. and times of personal reflection, we allow ourselves to come close to God in a spirit of trust and quietness.

This Lent, Saint Thomas Church invites you to share in a rich array of opportunities to discover where God seeks to meet you. In addition to Lenten worship, programs, and studies, there are several times for quiet reflection, as well as for pilgrimage to other churches in Midtown. Please join us as we make our way through the divine austerity of Lent to encounter new life and sustained hope at the Easter dawn!
