Theology Update for the Week of August 18

Theology Class: “Victims and Vindication”

Please join us for our next Sunday Theology Class on August 18 at 10am when Fr. Matthew Moretz will continue to explore the theme of “Victims and Vindication.” in the Holy Scriptures. After reviewing the book of Job, and reviewing the imagery of the “go’el,” or “redeemer” in Hebrew, we will now look at the book of Jonah and how the figure of Jonah in the Gospels allows us a good entry point into the mindset of Jesus regarding victims and vindication. The class meets at 10 a.m. on the fifth floor of the parish house. Next week, Sunday, August 25, our class will begin to explore the theme of “Temple Theology.”

Everyone is welcome to join us on the Fifth Floor of the Parish House for the class. Coffee and tea will be provided.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Grace and peace,

Online Theology Survey

Father Patrick Cheng

Dear Friends in Christ,

As you may know, I have been appointed as your new Theologian in Residence. I am excited to serve you in this capacity, beginning on Sunday, September 8th. And I look forward to carrying on our parish’s tradition of academic excellence and intellectual rigor with respect to its theology program.

To that end, we have developed a brief online survey to understand your interests in this area. We would be grateful if you would take a few moments to fill out the survey. Your feedback will help us as we plan the classes for the coming program year. You can take the survey by clicking on this LINK.

Thank you in advance for sharing your feedback with us. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you in the Fall.

Blessings,
Father Patrick Chen
