The Continuing Work of "Cut Red Tape 4 Heroes"

In July, Cut Red Tape 4 Heroes handed out a total of 8,000 items of PPE and 20 gallons of hand sanitizer to hospital workers at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, which had the first COVID patient in Queens and is still suffering after Hurricane Sandy. Thank you to St. Thomas parishioners for offering to volunteer for this event!

To date, Cut Red Tape 4 Heroes has put more than 725,000. items of PPE. and 1,000 gallons of hand sanitizer directly in the hands of more than 110,000 New York area hospital and nursing home workers, homeless shelter workers and clients, veterans, public housing residents in hot spot areas, and others in need of essential PPE.

Cut Red Tape 4 Heroes founder, Rhonda Roland Shearer, took out a nearly $1 million loan against her longtime home to purchase the PPE for those in need, and is now fundraising to pay the bills. Check out this story at The Living Church for an in-depth look at this story.
