November: the Month of Remembrance at Saint Thomas Church

We will offer the great Feast of All Saints on Tuesday, November 1, and the beautiful Commemoration of All Souls on Wednesday, November 2. The Choir will sing at 5:30 p.m. on those days. Please make every effort to attend All Saints’ Day as it is a red-letter day for Anglicans. All Souls’ Day is a poignant celebration and a real contrast to the day before.

Sunday, November 6 is known as All Saints’ Sunday. Sunday, November 13 is known as Remembrance Sunday. On that day, at 11 a.m., there will be a Solemn Requiem. At 4 p.m. we will welcome the patriotic and historical societies of New York and we hold an act of Remembrance for all who have died in times of conflict.

Each Saturday in November, the 12 p.m. service will be a requiem for our departed loved ones. We will be praying for them by name. Please continue to send names (and ideally date of death) to [email protected]

Finally, November 11 is Veterans Day and Armistice Day in Europe; the lunchtime mass will be celebrated at the WWII Memorial Altar in the Narthex.
