Children and Families Update for the Week of January 15th, 2023

[sdg-pt] post_id: 308910

The Rev. Alison Turner, Associate for Children & Family Ministries and School Chaplain

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was wonderful to see many of you at the weekend and to celebrate the beginning of a new year and school term. The children were introduced to the traditional symbols used for a New Year House Blessing and enjoyed a time of fun and fellowship with one another.

20+C+M+B+23

The initials C+M+B represent the legendary names of the three Maji, Casper, Melchior, and Balthasar, and they also stand for the Latin words, “Christus Mansionem Benedicat” which means,

“May Christ bless this dwelling.” The markings over doors are traditionally left there all year round as a sign that the door leads to a Christian home.

Thank you to all who came to join our Parents meeting. We hope you found it helpful!

We know that some of you will be away this coming weekend when we will mark MLK weekend.

Keep well and warm!

Faithfully yours,

Mother Turner
