Theology Update for the Week of February 17

Theology Class, “Spirituality and the Arts.”

On Sunday, February 17, at 10 am we will welcome a special guest, Retta Blaney, author of “Working on the Inside: The Spiritual Life Through the Eyes of Actors,” who will speak about how various performing artists that she has interviewed (including Kristen Chenoweth, Liam Neeson, and Vanessa Williams) incorporate their Christian spirituality into their craft.

Also, we will continue our Theology Evening Lecture Series. On Wednesday, February 20 at 6:30-8pm in Andrew Hall, Professor Jeremy Waldron will teach the next installment of his series on “Biblical Justice,” focusing mainly on the concepts of judgment, justice, and social justice in the writings of the Hebrew prophets.

The next session, on February 20, will focus on the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah. It will be helpful if participants can read these texts ahead of time. One other class will follow on Wednesday, February 27.

Everyone is welcome.
