Dedication Sunday 2014

On Sunday, october 5, we held in memory the dedication of our church building, the fourth structure to house the parish of Saint Thomas, and celebrate our patron: Thomas the Apostle. The Revered Canon Carl F Turner, our XIII Rector, preached at the 9am and 11am Eucharists and the 4pm Evensong. The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys sang at 11am and 4pm.

As always, Dedication Sunday served as the launch of the Every Member Canvass, through which we annually recommit ourselves to our Lord, our parish, and our parish’s mission: to worship, love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ through the Anglican tradition and our unique choral heritage. Whether you are a long-time member, a newcomer, or an individual who has never set foot inside our church building but nevertheless worship with us via webcasts and the sermon archive, we ask you to consider the blessings the Lord provides you through the ministry of Saint Thomas Church and Choir School, and to pledge your support for 2015.

The theme of this year’s Every Member Canvass is generous and cheerful giving. Our bountiful harvest is witnessed in so many ways: our glorious church and its magnificent carvings and stained glass; our clergy who lead our worship and teach our classes; our school and its dedicated choristers. May our hearts be wide open to the love of Jesus Christ our Savior, so that we may carry forward our mission, be cheerful givers and give bountifully.
