1:15 pm – 3:00 pm, Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue
In collaboration with the New York Early Music Celebration 2017, Saint Thomas Church's award-winning carillonneur, Julie Zhu, plays a carillon prelude on the twenty-six church bells that ring out over Fifth Avenue. Immediately following, Organist and Director of Music, Daniel Hyde, plays a handpicked program of North German and Dutch music, displaying the kaleidoscopic sounds of the Loening-Hancock gallery organ. Featuring works by J.S. Bach, Sweelinck, Scheidt, Buxtehude, Böhm, and Bruhns.
