7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Saint Thomas Church
Much anticipated, and as a result of over ten years of visionary planning and painstaking hard work on the part of many, The Irene D. and William R. Miller Chancel Organ in memory of John Scott has gradually taken shape visually and aurally over the past year. With 102 stops, this magisterial instrument now presides over both sides of the Chancel, and is designed for liturgical and concert use. In this dedicatory recital, Daniel Hyde will demonstrate the many colors and sounds of the new instrument, from the softest strings to the iconic ‘blazing Saint Thomas sound’ known to many familiar with the previous instrument. An occasion not to be missed.
