Benjamin Sheen, Acting Director of Music at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue.

Originally a set of improvisations played during a reading of Paul Claudel’s verse meditations on the fourteen Stations of the Cross, Le Chemin de la Croix became one of Marcel Dupré’s favorite pieces. He played it every year during Lent at Saint-Sulpice in Paris. The hour-long score follows the Stations from the sentencing of Jesus to his entombment.
