Out of Egypt: Reading Exodus TheologicallyAdd to My Calendar
Sunday, May 20, 2018
10:00 am – 10:45 am
5th Floor, Parish House
This class undertakes a close reading of the book of Exodus in the Old Testament. In addition to being a record of the central event in Jewish history – the escape from Egypt and journey towards the Promised Land – Exodus also provides a prime case study of the benefits of a utilization of the traditional “four senses” of scripture: the literal, the typological, the moral, and the mystical.
We look today at the first time Moses and Aaron meet with Pharaoh. It didn’t go well. The class meets at 10 a.m. on the fifth floor of the parish house.
