MONDAY IN HOLY WEEK

Collect:

Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Right Rev'd Richard Chartres will preach sermons throughout Holy Week.

Today's sermon is part of a series by Bishop Chartres entitled ‘Humanity brought to life by the humanity of God’

“Is it not evident that the Father accepts the sacrifice not because he demands it or feels some need of it but in order to carry out his own plans? Humanity had to be brought to life by the humanity of God ...we had to be called back to him by his Son. Let the rest be adored in silence.” Saint Gregory Nazianzen - Orations for Easter (45)
