At this special Evening Theology Course we welcome our special guest, Jeremy Waldron, professor of legal and political philosophy at NYU School of Law. He continues to lead a series of classes on the biblical perspective of justice and judgement in the light of the prophetic tradition of the Hebrew Scripture. This is the second class in the series. The final one will be on Wednesday February 27.
Tonight's class will focus on the books of Jeremiah and Isaiah.
A prolific scholar, Waldron has written extensively on jurisprudence and political theory, including numerous books and articles on theories of rights, constitutionalism, the rule of law, democracy, property, torture, security, homelessness, and the philosophy of international law. Light refreshments will be provided.
The bookstore has ordered the following books in relation to this course: Walter Houston, “Justice: The Biblical Challenge” (2014) and Enrique Nardoni, “Rise Up O Judge: A Study of Justice in the Biblical World” (2010). These books are for background reading only. Everyone is welcome.
