The music for today’s webcast is “Hommage à Frescobaldi” by Jean Langlais (1907-1991). We decided to take some of the movements out of order to fit our liturgy. The Prelude/Procession was Prélude au Kyrie, after Old Testament Lesson: Thème et Variations, after the Epistle: Antienne, after the Gospel: Fantaisie, at the Offertory: Offertoire, at the Sanctus: Elévation, at the Communion: Communion, at the postlude/procession: Épilogue.

During Communion, we invite you to say the words printed below.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

I believe in thee, O my Jesus, present in the most holy Sacrament of the Altar;
I love thee above all things, and I desire to receive thee into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace thee, and I unite myself to thee as if thou wast already there.
Never permit me to be separated from thee!
O Lord Jesus Christ, let the sweet and consuming force of thy love absorb my whole soul,
that I may die for the love of thee, who wast pleased to die for the love of me. Amen.

Weekday 12:00pm Shrine Prayers and Mass

On Mondays through Saturdays at 12pm we offer prayers and intercessions at the shrine of Our Lady of Fifth Avenue. These prayers precede the Eucharist and include the traditional recitation of the Angelus, prayers from the diocesan and Anglican cycle, and intercessions left either in the church or by using the form below. Shrine prayers are followed by a celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
