The First Sunday Of Advent

The First Sunday Of Advent

Almighty God, give us grace that we may cast away the works of darkness, and put upon us the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which thy Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the quick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

What is the ethical content of the Psalms, and how is their instruction conveyed? These are the questions behind the Sunday class, “The Ethics of the Psalms,” which continues on Sunday mornings through December. Visitors welcome any Sunday at 10 a.m. on the 5th floor.

This week’s topic: Fr Austin will focus on virtues and vices: what sorts of things the Psalms encourage the reader/singer to be or do, and what sorts of things we are encouraged *not* to be/do. It is OK to come even if you haven’t been to this series before.
