Brigid of Kildare
The Eve of the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Candlemas)

Brigid of Kildare

O God, whose servant Brigid, kindled with the flame of your love, became a shining light in your church: Grant that we also may be aflame with the spirit of love and discipline, and walk before you as children of light; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Each month, Father Turner records an audio message which is a personal theological reflection on a particular topic. Sometimes it is about the season or festival being celebrated at Saint Thomas Church, sometimes a reflection on the life of the church in other parts of the world and at other times something that is in the news. These messages are posted toward the end of each month. Be sure to check latest news for updates.

The Rector’s Reflection for February 2017

Following the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, Canon Turner finds himself walking past the ‘alternative White House’ each day. He reflects on the importance of the Church to pray for leaders of the nations and the impact that their speeches often have on others, thinking particularly of his home country and the annual Christmas speech from the King or Queen.
