The Sunday Of The Resurrection: Easter Day

The Sunday Of The Resurrection: Easter Day

Almighty God, who through thine only-begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord's resurrection, may be raised from the death of sin by thy life-giving Spirit; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

11:00 a.m.

Above: The 11am Easter Day Opening Procession weaves its way through the nave. You can see the choir coming down an aisle on the right side.

About Easter Seating: We would be delighted if you decide to worship with us on Easter Morning. Easter is the reason for our existence; there would be no church, no Christian faith, and no hope without the resurrection. So it is an excellent time to come and worship with us.

Be advised that at the 11am Solemn Eucharist we are usually full to capacity, and some who would like to worship with us find no seats. Our church holds 1,850 people, but sometimes well over 2,000 show up.

So, we kindly suggest that you consider following the example of the women who arrived at the break of dawn at the empty tomb. Early is good.

If you want to attend the 11am Liturgy, we’d suggest arriving by 10am to secure a good seat. You might also consider coming instead to the 8am Solemn Eucharist. It is the exact same worship service, but without the lines. Another alternative, if you prefer a shorter service, is Solemn Evensong at 3pm. It is preceded by an organ recital by Frederick Teardo and Kevin Kwan, our Associate Organist and Assistant Organist. If you arrive by 2:30pm, you’ll not only be able to hear the entire recital, but you’ll have a good seat for Evensong.

In the end, whether you join us at the 11am Eucharist, or at some other other point during the day, we hope you join us in praise of our risen Lord on Easter Day, or at some other time very soon.

We wish you a most joyous and happy Easter.
