Holy Cross Day

Holy Cross Day

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ was lifted high upon the cross that he might draw the whole world unto himself: Mercifully grant that we, who glory in the mystery of our redemption, may have grace to take up our cross and follow him; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Good Books & Good Talk
Tragedies by Shakespeare
summer and fall 2015

William Shakespeare’s plays are among the greatest books of our Western, Christian tradition, taking the reader into the depths of our common humanity. His tragedies are particularly powerful. In this seminar series, participants will read one play per month and then gather to talk about it for 90 minutes. Father Austin will guide the discussion with questions whose purpose is to help us explore possible answers in the text to life’s persistent questions.

Each seminar is on a Monday evening, from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., in Andrew Hall. All those who read the selection in advance are welcome to the discussion.

Tonight, Macbeth
Oct 19, King Lear
