The Church is...

Looking east in the nave of Saint Thomas Church toward the Rose Window and Taylor and Boody gallery organ

Early in the history of the Church, the Christian community came to a set of theological understandings of what it means to be “Church.” One of these was the Church as “the body of Christ,” based on the epistles of St. Paul. In addition, the Nicene Creed affirms the Church as one, holy, catholic and apostolic.

At Choral Evensong on each Sunday in Lent 2015, distinguished clergy from around the Diocese of New York preached on the nature of the Church.
