Bede the Venerable

Bede the Venerable

Almighty God, who has enriched your church with the learning and holiness of your servant Bede: Grant us to find in Scripture and disciplined prayer the image of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, and to fashion our lives according to his likeness, to the glory of your great Name and to the benefit of your holy church; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

6:30 p.m.

Victor Lee Austin, Theologian-in-residence at Saint Thomas since 2005, will reflect on the process of writing a theological memoir concerning his late wife, Susan. That memoir, Losing Susan: Brain Disease, the Priest’s Wife, and the God Who Gives and Takes Away, is forthcoming from Brazos Press. Father Austin will also read excerpts from that book. There will be time for questions, and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
