Theology Update for the Week of April 3, 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,

Join us this Sunday, April 3 at 10:00am when our Rector, Father Carl Turner, will present the fifth of a series of classes in Lent entitled: ‘No Greater Love’: An exploration of Christian Art and the Passion. Over the course of this penitential season, the clergy of Saint Thomas Church are sharing fine works of art that convey the rich meaning of the suffering love of Christ during His Passion. In the last of our Lenten series, Fr. Turner will share images of the Pieta accompanied by poetry and reflections. Some of the most beautiful paintings and sculpture have been produced to show the intimacy between Mary and Jesus; although she holds the lifeless body of her son, she does so with the same devotion that we see in images of her holding him as a newborn child.

These lectures will be available, ultimately, on-demand on our website. And when they are available, I will direct you to them. If you would like to join us, either in person or online, please contact us.

Grace and peace to you,

Fr. Matthew Moretz+
Vicar
