News from the Choir School

Ms. Ruth Cobb has served as our Interim Director of Admission for the past sixteen months, returning to Choir School after being a parent of two choristers and previously serving as Director of Admission for nine years. Her mission was to rebuild connections with churches, choirs, and schools across the country, successfully revitalizing our enrollment efforts even amidst the pandemic. With unwavering passion for the school and its students, she tirelessly promoted it both within and beyond Episcopal circles, fostering a stronger community and forging new friendships. As her time in admissions concludes at the end of July, we bid farewell to Ms. Cobb with heartfelt appreciation.

Ms. Nora Thomson, Director of Outreach and Enrollment

At this time, we welcome Ms. Nora Thomson as our new Director of Outreach and Enrollment! Coming from The Dwight School, where she served as Director of Early Childhood Admissions, Ms. Thomson brings a wealth of connections in the NYC school admissions world. She also sits on the Board of the Independent Schools Admission Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). As an active and accomplished singer herself, Ms. Thomson understands the importance of attracting young students and their families to a transformative school experience. Reflecting on joining the Choir School community, Ms. Thomson shared her thoughts:

I am incredibly excited to share with prospective students and families the life-changing opportunities that this remarkable School offers. As a trained musician who has been a choral singer since childhood, I know firsthand the transformational experience of studying and performing choral music. This community, with its rich traditions and vigorous musical and academic programs, is an incredibly special one, and I look forward to introducing Choir School to a new generation of young musicians and their parents.
