On Shrove Tuesday, we will close the active phase of the annual appeal for 2024. With the Bicentennial Gala and the 2024 Annual Appeal, we have exceeded $2,000,000 in annual campaign support for the first time. Thank you to everyone who made a gift to the Bicentennial, the Annual Appeal, or both (especially those who made gifts to both!)
Annual stewardship comes in many forms: financial support, yes, but also in the hundreds of volunteer hours that make the life of this community so vibrant. We are grateful to those who participate in the Guilds, committees, and service work for Saint Thomas. The fabric of our community is beautiful and enriching for all—those of us who are here everyday and those who wander in from Fifth Avenue laden with shopping bags and tired feet. They may come in for a respite from the cold, but invariably, there is a catch of breath when they behold the reredos, or catch a strain of Evensong. Your gifts of time and talent are transformed into gifts for the soul.
And your annual financial support is also vital.
Saint Thomas is blessed with resources, but it cannot be the oasis of prayer on Fifth Avenue without a robust and growing annual appeal. We will continue to work quietly to reach the $1,500,000 goal, which will represent 10% of the budget. We are currently at $1,170,000, $330,000 to go. If you have not pledged yet, please do.
