Saint Thomas Church's Easter Parade to End Medical Debt

As Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue celebrates its bicentennial, we are reflecting on our history of compassion and service to New York City. One tradition dating back to just after the Civil War is the church’s participation in the Easter Parade, where members carried flowers used in the Easter service to St. Luke’s Hospital located at 54th Street. This was a small way Saint Thomas Church showed caring for the sick and suffering of New York.

As Lent calls us to prayer, reflection, almsgiving, and self-discipline through fasting, we invite you to extend your generosity to those with medical debt.

For every dollar contributed, we can absolve over $100 of medical debt, profoundly impacting not just individuals but entire families, bringing peace of mind and well-being.

Let us emulate Christ’s healing mission by reaching out to alleviate the financial burdens of the sick and impoverished among us, making a tangible difference in the lives of those struggling under the weight of medical debt.
