It has long been our practice in the Episcopal Church to welcome all baptized Christians to receive Holy Communion. Previously, the instructions and preparations that children need to better understand and receive this sacrament were handled on an individual or family basis. These classes are designed for young children preparing to receive Holy Communion for the very first time. They are also for any child who is already receiving the sacrament, but would benefit from a deeper reflection on the Mass and its meaning in our lives as Christians.
This is a particularly suitable interactive and creative program for children enrolled in Sunday School who are able to read proficiently and who wish to grow in their faith within our Eucharistic community.
