The late Anglican clergyman and spiritual writer, Kenneth Leech recounts an Easter Christian story of a person who came to a monk and asked, ‚Äú’Father, what is prayer?’ The monk held out his hands and flames shot up from his fingers. ‘That is prayer,’ he said. He was a soul on fire, and when necessary he could manifest the fact.‚Äù For most of us, we will never experience prayer of that sort, but that does not prevent us from desiring to pray better and to pray deeper.

Please plan on attending this final class of a four-session course on prayer which began on january 21. Spiritual director Kari Kristina Reeves will explore different kinds of prayer, helping us to experience them in unique ways. Fathers Turner and Spurlock were pleased to join Kari and Saint Thomas parishioner Brett Moore in teaching these courses.

The classes are free and open to the public.

While not required, we are pleased to recommend a text for the course, Canyon Road: A Book of Prayer written by Kari Reeves. Hardback copies of Kari’s book will be available for sale at each session of the class for a cost of $40, and will also be made available for sale in our bookstore.
