The next two Sundays of Advent are all about John the Baptist, who acts as a kind of ‘bridge’ between the Old and the New Testament in the Bible.

Advent is a time for the opening of our ears to the great judge who, rather than shouting for justice, is often whispering in the wilderness.

I am grateful for the many messages of support and goodwill that we have received from many people since the Vestry’s announcement about the future of the Choir School. 

This has been a momentous week in so many ways, and all the world has been watching the election of the 47th President of the United States.

The Feast of All Saints, which we will celebrate together this Sunday, is a reminder that we’re never truly alone.

On Tuesday we had a very happy gathering of parishioners who have recently joined us through the Pilgrims’ Course or who have moved to the city and joined Saint Thomas.

The church was abuzz with excitement as we welcomed the American Priory of the Venerable Order of St. John for a host of services honoring this ancient and storied organization.

We had a very joyful conclusion of the Bicentennial Celebrations last weekend.

The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene is shocking. Hundreds are dead and thousands without power.  Fr. Mead introduced me to the Dean of the Cathedral of All Souls in Asheville, Sarah Hurlbert, whose Cathedral has been flooded.
