A new class on reading scripture begins this week and, next month, tragedy strikes (in the form of William Shakespeare)!

The final Rector’s Christian Doctrine Class is this week. A new class on reading scripture begins later this month. Next month a series of discussions on Shakespeare’s tragedies begins.

The Good Books and Good Talk Seminar meets this week on Monday, April 27, to discuss Flannery O’Connor’s second novel: The Violent Bear it Away.

On Wednesday, April 22, Nigel Biggar, Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology and Canon of Christ Church, Oxford, speaks on what Christian teaching about war has been and how it might help the world today.

Regular classes resume this week. Later on in the month there will be a lecture on the Christian “just war” tradition.

Fr Austin leads the Rector’s Christian Doctrine Class this week and a group discussion for the Good Book and Good Talk seminar.

On March 15 there will be a panel discussion of TS Eliot’s “Ash Wednesday” led by Fr Daniels. Next month there will be a guest lecture focusing on just war theory.

A lecture series on equality by parishioner Jeremy Waldron concludes this week. Later this month there will be a discussion of Josephine Tey’s Miss Prym Disposes.
