Irenaeus of Lyons

Irenaeus of Lyons

Almighty God, who strengthened your servant Irenaeus to defend thy truth against every blast of vain doctrine: Keep us, we pray, steadfast in your true religion, that in constancy and peace we may walk in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Real singleness of heart is hard to come by. It takes much patient practice and
purification. But Jesus himself does promise that the spirit of truth lies within you,
and it connects with reality, not just your subjective meanderings. – Cynthia
Bourgeault, “Wisdom Jesus”

This service of Taize Songs, Centering Prayer, and Lectio-Divina is led by Mo. Prisca Lee-Pae.

Contact Mo. Lee-Pae for more information.

Lectio Divina literally means “divine word” or “divine reading”. It involves choosing a short passage from the scripture, memorizing it, and then repeating it silently for some minutes. During practice, all ideas, thoughts and images related to the passage are allowed to arise spontaneously in the mind. It is somewhat in between contemplative reading and contemplative prayer.
