The anthem for tonight’s Evensong, a setting of the Agnus Dei by British composer Ian Kellam, was written for our choir in memory of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The dedication reads:

To Gerre Hancock and the Choir of Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue, New York, in memory of of the Innocent and the Brave, slaughtered on September 11th, 2001.

Text
O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
have mercy upon us.

O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
have mercy upon us.

O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world,
grant us thy peace.
