The Sixteenth Sunday After Pentecost
O God, forasmuch as without thee we are not able to please thee, mercifully grant that thy Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the same Spirit liveth and reigneth, one God, now and for ever. Amen. (Proper 19)

The Saint Thomas Organ Recital Series is free and open to the public. Usually starting very close to 5:15pm, it follows the 4pm service on most Sundays from September through May. The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited during the performance.
Today’s recital is by Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue’s own Stephen Buzard, Acting Director of Music, and Benjamin Sheen, Acting Organist. Stephen and Benjamin will present a recital in memory of the late John Gavin Scott which will include some of John’s favourite works for organ and also a new work written specially in memory of John by the English composer, Andrew Carter. The program will last around 45 minutes and will include music by Mendelssohn, Buxtehude, Durufle, Demessieux and Whitlock.
