Holy Saturday
O God, Creator of heaven and earth: Grant that, as the crucified body of thy dear Son was laid in the tomb and rested on this holy Sabbath, so we may await with him the coming of the third day, and rise with him to newness of life; who now liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. There are no tickets or reserved seating for the Easter Vigil and First Eucharist of Easter, nor for any of the Holy Week and Easter Day services. Seats are available on a first come basis.
In past years, there have been plenty of seats for everyone who wishes to attend the Easter Vigil service. Given that the service begins in darkness, and from the back of the church (near the Fifth Avenue entrance), we advise that you arrive by around 5:20pm so that you are in your seat with your candle before 5:30pm.
The church doors will close shortly after the end of the 5:30pm service.
