The Second Sunday After The Epiphany
God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that thy people, illumined by thy Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ’s glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

The Saint Thomas Organ Recital Series is free and open to the public. Usually starting very close to 5:15pm, it follows the 4pm service on most Sundays from September through May. The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited during the performance.
Today’s recital is by Judith Hancock of New York, NY, playing the Gerre Hancock Memorial Recital. She perfroms works by Johannes Brahms, Gerre Hancock, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Charles Tournemire.

From Judith Hancock about this afternoon’s recital
This program has been organized to honor Gerre Hancock whose compositional style emulated that of Brahms, Durufl√©, and Sowerby. However, there is only time to play one. I will play three of Gerre’s delightful compositions followed by one transcription. Gerre lived by the Creed represented in Wir Glauben of Bach, and it is followed by the great Resurrection piece, Victimae Paschali!
