Guest Speaker: The Most Revd. Dr Thabo Cecil Makgoba, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town

In 2009, at the request of Graça Machel, Archbishop Thabo Makgoba offered a heartfelt prayer with Nelson Mandela in his home—a moment that marked the beginning of a profound spiritual relationship between the Anglican leader and South Africa’s iconic statesman. This talk explores the depth of that connection, reflecting on the influence Mandela had on the Archbishop’s ministry and the wider church. Through intimate insights into Mandela’s spirituality and his impact on those closest to him, Archbishop Makgoba opens a unique window into the soul of a nation and the spiritual legacy of one of its greatest sons.
