Martin Luther
O God, our refuge and our strength, who raised up your servant Martin Luther to reform and renew your church in the light of your word: Defend and purify the church in our own day and grant that, through faith, we may boldly proclaim the riches of your grace, which you have made known in Jesus Christ our Savior, who with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Tonight’s topic:
Church Organization and Ministry
The Rector’s Christian Doctrine Class is a 14-session comprehensive overview of Christian teaching about God, sin, salvation, church history, sacraments and more.
January 14 is the first session. The class meets on these additional Tuesday evenings: Jan 21, Jan 28, Feb 4, Feb 11, Feb 18, Feb 25, Mar 4, Mar 11, Mar 18, Mar 25, Apr 1, Apr 8, and Apr 29. Confirmation and Reception by the bishop will occur on Sunday, May 4.
This class is particularly for persons who are new to the church. It will give you a good sense of what Christians believe and a grasp of fundamental Christian practices (such as prayer and the sacraments). It is also a good opportunity for anyone to get to know our Rector, Father Mead, before he retires in the summer.
Persons who wish to join Saint Thomas Church, and persons who wish to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, are particularly encouraged to attend. We also welcome anyone who happens to be interested in the topic of the day.
