Guest Speaker: The Rev. Mark Brown, Honorary priest at Saint Thomas Church
Series Overview
Seeing the Eucharist explores the mystery of the Eucharist through art across centuries—from illuminated manuscripts and Renaissance painting to the beloved images of Norman Rockwell. Dr. Felicity Harley-McGowan and the Rev. Mark Brown guide participants in discovering how visual art deepens sacramental life.
Today’s Topic, “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”. Koinonia, Ecclesia: Community, Co-inherence, the Imago Dei, Justice and Mercy, is based on the image The Golden Rule by Norman Rockwell.

Fr. Mark Brown is an Episcopal priest, retreat leader, and spiritual director. Ordained in 1994 after an earlier career as a musician and teacher in Champaign, Illinois, he spent 21 years as a member of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, serving as Assistant Superior and directing the Monastic Internship Program. He has led retreats across the U.S., Canada, and Jerusalem, where he frequently served as chaplain for pilgrimages at St. George’s College. A former teacher of spiritual direction at General Theological Seminary, he now serves as honorary priest at St. Thomas Church and priest associate at Trinity Church, New York City.
