Series Overview

The Eucharist gathers us where the world divides. Christ’s presence heals our divisions, unmasks the idols that enslave us, and gives us the freedom to bring God’s love to the world.

Today’s Topic

Often overlooked because of the focus on the words of institution, the Epiclesis, that is the invocation of the Holy Spirit to sanctify bread, wine, and the gathered faithful, is in fact a vital moment in the Eucharist. It reminds us that the transforming power of the sacrament comes not only from Christ’s words but through the living work of the Spirit who makes us one in Christ.
