Today Canon Robin Ward will talk to us about Dom Gregory Dix (1901–1952).

Dix was a British monk and priest of Nashdom Abbey, an Anglican Benedictine community. He was a noted liturgical scholar whose work had particular influence on the reform of Anglican liturgy in the mid-20th century. He had important connections to the Church in the USA, and as a theologian he has had a huge impact on the way in which Anglican Christians have worshipped since the 1950s.

Canon Ward has been the Principal of St Stephen’s House since 2006. St Stephen’s House is an Anglican Theological foundation with an affiliation to Oxford University. His initial theological studies were in patristics, the study of early Church history and theology. Since then he has taught moral theology (Christian ethics), ecclesiology (the doctrine of the Church), and sacramental theology. He is a member of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford.

The Adult Education program at Saint Thomas Church offers sound Christian teaching presented with intellectual vigor, teaching that is grounded in Holy Scripture, mediated by the catholic tradition that is the inheritance of Anglicanism and set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.
